A Wonderful Evening in the Garden

‍On July 10th, BNCLT hosted our fifth (!) annual “Evening in the Garden” event to appreciate our members and supporters. This was our biggest event yet, with 50 attendees filling the beautiful garden of board member Erica Schwarz.

This year, our focus was community control – the central theme of our soon-to-be-complete Strategic Plan. We gathered for an interactive activity that gave everyone the opportunity to dig into the three pillars of our Strategic Plan:

  • OUR PEOPLE: Community Strength, Governance, & Power

  • OUR HOMES: Stewardship-Centered Growth & Sustainability

  • OUR ORGANIZATION: Sustaining the Mission (Internal Systems & Operations)

We then heard from our guest speaker, Executive Director of the Boston Ujima Project: Nia Evans. Nia contextualized our work as part of the broader Solidarity Economy, a local and global movement to build a more just economy that prioritizes people over profit.

We LOVED connecting with many of you there. We are endlessly grateful for the many ways you show up and support BNCLT.
