Access to Food

For anyone in Massachusetts who needs food assistance, start by calling the FoodSource Hotline.
Healthy Incentives Program: In Massachusetts, SNAP users are automatically enrolled in HIP. This is a state-funded program that will continue to be available even if federal SNAP dollars are delayed.
Free School Meals: School meals are free for all students during the 2025-26 school year in Massachusetts.
Women, Infants, & Children Nutrition Program: WIC serves Massachusetts families with children under 5, as well as those who are pregnant, just had a baby, and/or are breastfeeding.
Meals on Wheels: Serves elders, their spouses, and their dependents with disabilities.
The Greater Boston Food Bank: Provides free emergency groceries to individuals and families in their local communities.
