Annual Appeal Year End Story #1: A Historic Timeline of BNCLT

It is once again the season of our Annual Appeal, and as always, we bring you three end-of-year stories. This year, we are carrying forward the playful and empowering spirit of our "Let's Be Giants" Annual Meeting, and telling each story through a different storytelling format. First up is a historic timeline of BNCLT, which has grown from a group of tenant and housing justice activists seeking to stabilize households in the face of the foreclosure crisis, to a growing community land trust with 32 households. In these challenging times, we call on this history to give us strength and direction.

Without further ado, we bring you Year-End Story #1:

BNCLT's 2025 Accomplishments + Current Work

  1. Taking care of our buildings with energy efficiency upgrades, landscape improvements, porch and roof repairs, and our first ever Capital Needs Assessment.

  2. Developing key organizational tools like our Bylaws and brand new Ground Lease.

  3. Clarifying who we are today, and who we want to be tomorrow with a strategic planning process.

  4. Investing in our properties with local, values-aligned investment partners.

  5. Working with a cohort of BNCLT residents to explore pathways to ownership for low income rental residents.

  6. Developing a new model of property management that depends on top quality maintenance and relational resident communications.

None of this work is possible without you, as a member of the BNCLT community!

Please help maintain and expand your local CLT’s capacity to be a vital place of respite and strength for our neighborhoods.
