Board Member Amos Cordon Featured in MassLive Article

On May 10th, BNCLT board member and resident Amos Cordon was featured in the MassLive article “The little-known housing solution that kept Boston families in their homes through 2 financial crises”. Amos spoke about his history joining the Coalition for Occupied Homes in Foreclosure, which became BNCLT:

When they bought the property, it was (a) relief. Finally, we have somebody who cares, who isn’t in it just for the money … so we can stay in our own home,” said Cordon, who lives in the same place more than a decade later and now serves on the trust’s board. “I never thought there (were) people like that out there who want to help people in that circumstance.

Board Member Eric Boyd Honored by Cambridge Community Land Trust

On July 12th, the Cambridge Community Land Trust hosted a gathering in recognition of CLTs as part of housing activism. At the event, they honored BNCLT board member and resident Eric Boyd, who organized with other residents at 6 Humphreys Place to secure the property as community-controlled, permanently affordable housing with BNCLT. The process involved years of legal battles between tenants and the landlord who had sent them no-fault eviction notices, winning a collective bargaining agreement that allowed residents to stay in their homes, and BNCLT’s purchase of the building in 2022.  

Executive Director Meridith Levy Featured in Shelterforce Webinar

A few days later, on July 15th, BNCLT’s Executive Director Meridith Levy joined other affordable housing practitioners for the Shelterforce webinar “What Does a Good Housing “Impact Investment” Look Like?."
