Property Management Updates

March 1st, 2026 marks the day BNCLT took the full operation of Property Management in-house! This is a giant step for BNCLT, and gives us an opportunity to build out an internal system of property management that is fully integrated with community governance and control.

We started this endeavor last September, when we hired our Facilities Steward, Derol Reid, and took over the maintenance operations. We committed to using a relational approach, working closely with our residents to get ahead of building issues, communicate regularly, and make sure we respond to our community quickly and effectively.

Since March, BNCLT now provides all property management functions — maintenance, resident support, rent collection, certification, finances — the whole works. This is a huge milestone since the founding of COHIF 10+ years ago. No longer reliant on a third party to execute our vision, the BNCLT team hopes to put our vision into action, following the principles and priorities of our resident community. 

Our property management team includes: 

  • Derol, Facilities Stewardship Manager

  • Dari, Assistant Property Manager 

  • Bree, Director of Operations and Property Management 

With Markeisha continuing as our Resident Leadership Coordinator! Markeisha will work closely with our residents this year to establish our system of community governance.
